Proposals for Traveller/Gypsy Sites
The Society is aware of the proposals in the Scott Wilson Report and will be submitting appropriate representations to Hertsmere Borough Council. It should be noted that Hertsmere Council planning officers have shortlisted 6 sites, none of which is in Aldenham/Radlett. We suggest that anyone who has concerns should attend one of the meetings being set-up by the Council. Further information can be obtained from:- www.hertsmere.gov.uk/search?keyword=gypsies .

Proposals to provide more Gypsy and Traveller caravan pitches in all local authorities in the region by 2011 were recommended on 12th December by the East of England Regional Assembly's Regional Planning Panel at their meeting in Cambridge.
The figures show an increase of 72% in the numbers of pitches in Hertfordshire (over the 2006 figure). The increase in pitches in Hertsmere is set at 18 (35 currently).
