The 200 sq.m plots of green
belt were on sale for about £15,000 and more than 1000 had been sold. Council planning officer Chris Lewcock said
administrators had not yet approached the authority about the company, but added: "There is no current and very little future likelihood of the land being released for residential purposes.

It had been expected that Mr Phillipson's report would be passed to Secretary of State Hazel Blears for a final decision by the end of June, but his office now believes there will be a delay until the autumn.

However, between 20 - 23 November, because of the University of Hertforshire's graduation ceremony, it is being relocated to the Dagnall Street Baptist Church.

]]> Current Core Stategy consultation http://www.radlettsociety.org.uk/blog/blog1/2007/11/current_core_stategy_consultation 2007-11-14T23:26:52+00:00 http://www.radlettsociety.org.uk/blog/blog1/2007/11/current_core_stategy_consultation Hertsmere Borough Council has to put together a plan of what development there should be, and where, in the borough until 2021.

The plans respond to national policy requirements, as well as community needs. The plan is called a Core Strategy and once adopted by Hertsmere will become the most important document for assessing planning applications in the future.

The consultation runs to 5pm, Monday December 17th.

There will be an exhibition and drop-in session at the Radlett Centre on 20 November from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. If you miss that one then there is another session being held at Bushey Country Club, High Street Bushey on 27 November.

The flytipping of controlled waste is a serious criminal offence which carries a fine of up to £50,000 or up to five years in prison.

Hertsmere ask that if you discover flytipped waste after the tippers have left, or of you see someone flytipping, then you follow their set of guidelines and report the matter to the council. CLICK HERE to go to the Hertsmere website for the guidelines and more details.

It should be noted that Hertsmere Council planning officers have shortlisted 6 sites, none of which is in Aldenham/Radlett. The lobby group STRiFE (www.strife.biz ) has scheduled a public meeting on Thursday 19th July at Radlett United Synagogue, Watling Street.

The Society is opposed to the application primarily on Green Belt grounds, viz: loss of openness, over-development, no exceptional circumstances. We will be submitting our case to the Planning Inspector in time for the Public Inquiry expected late 2007.

This was held on 26 February 2007.

From the minutes: "Cllr Charles Golstein provided a report on the work of the Radlett Crime Reduction Group.  Radlett was fortunate in experiencing a relatively low level of crime.  In making his report, Cllr Golstein referred to a recent example involving a number of disturbances in the station car park late at night.  The actions suggested by the Police had included holding meetings with local affected residents and the end result had been a significant decrease in the number of offences.  Consideration was being given to extending this cost-effective initiative elsewhere."
